Meanwhile the BBC is discontinuing it's support for iPlayer on Windows Mobile
BBC and Snap. But, why?
The BBC gave the controversial Silicon Valley tech IPO Snap a priceless publicity boost today, by bringing its Planet Earth II series “exclusively” to Snap’s app and nerd goggles before the show launches on terrestrial TV in North America. Planet Earth II made its UK TV debut in November. Six episodes, containing some unseen …

"Meanwhile the BBC is discontinuing it's support for iPlayer on Windows Mobile" -- who give a toss? Why should they support a platform that is supposedly used by approximately 0.5% of mobile users? I'd hazard a guess that many of those users also have a proper mobile (e.g. android or iOS) so it really is an irrelevance.

Idea for a new BBC educational programme
It would be called "Let's talk Bollocks". On the basis of Six episodes, containing some unseen natural history footage, will be formatted for a “vertical mobile viewing experience”, the BBC says, in what it describes as “a first for a mobile audience”. it would seem that BBC management are fluent speakers of this language and would be able to present the programme without having to recruit externally.

BBC stupidity
The only more stupid PSB broadcaster I know is RTE.
They have a MASSIVE web infrastructure, with comments.
Yet they wanted to ditch HGTTG "wiki"
They push everyone on their website and R4 to Twitter and Facebook. Facebook is probably incompatible with BBC Charter, UK Law and EU law. Both are commercial third parties.
So no surprise.

RTE
* - Agree! RTE constantly claims its broke. Maybe it should start charging for all those free referrals to US corporate commercial interests like Facebook / Twitter and so on.
* - But who am I kidding... You only have to browse RTE for 2 mins to see how pro-silicon-valley tech news can get. Privacy is not a word RTE heads ever consider! Its all about jobs for the lads through low corporate tax sandwiches. Meanwhile the entire country gets to pay for sh1t like 'Fair-City' through enforced TV license taxes. Go figure!
* - BTW: Didn't follow [HGTTG] / [R4]... Urban dictionary says later is a gun former is Hitchhikers guide etc... Cheers for insights!

"So, plugged in people, huh?" Stanislav Grof Interview (talking about Giger's work)
Giger was one sick puppy. Not a lot of people know this, but some of the original alien models were part made out of real human body parts as ordered in from a medical supply company. You could say without contradiction, he really loved his work :)
