vSphere 6.5 is now available, which includes both the old flex client and the new html5 client. You can choose which one you want, and in fact sometimes you do have to switch to the flex client as not all features have been ported yet.
Also, ESXi now includes an html client by default, which is good since the windows client has been deprecated for a long time and is now finally done.

Except that the new HTML5 client is heavily lacking in features still. You can't even create a vSwitch yet and not being able to do that is going to make resource abstraction rather tricky.
The new GUI is very good, don't get me wrong, however it's going to be a few months yet before its a full production replacement of the old interfaces.
The HTML5 client is faster than the older Web client but given it can only do around 10%, then it is not very useful at present.This is built into vSphere v6.5
Still would prefer a native Windows client which is compiled and thus feels more responsive. Cant see why VMware can not offer this as well as the Web client (best of both worlds)
