    Make a wish...

"...the cargo vehicle will stay attached to the station for a month as it's unpacked and refilled with garbage, before being sent off to burn up in the atmosphere."

Or possibly shower some lucky people with burning 'space garbage.' Hey, it's much higher quality than what we got down here!

      Re: Make a wish...

The trajectory is crafted to make sure any bits that COULD make it down splash into the wide open pacific where they are VERY unlikely to hit anything other than the water and the seafloor. Any "throwaway" vehicle is also designed to break up and fall apart into bits that burn up almost completely. Very few bits will make it all the way back down to the surface.

Hey! That's aerospace grade garbage! You should feel lucky that it destroyed your house.

Also, why did you build your house in the middle of the Pacific?

    For a moment

I thought the article ha something to do with the after effects of all that borscht they had to resort to eating after the last resupply failed.

    Why Android?

Why would you use Android for a Communications satellite? The closet thing to android it should have would be a Linux-powered management system and a couple cores running a proper RTOS (Or even just microcontrollers running through closed loops).

These things are supposed to be routing packets, not playing Angry Birds...

Is it just me, or does the 4th-from-right tank (in the Getting ready to rumble photo) look like Leela from Futurama?
