    Android is a bloated Linux framework, so they cut it down to make it suitable for IoT.... clearly I am missing something.

      Seconded. It's easy to spell, easy to pronounce, and easy to google. Plus no intercaps. What's there to complain about.

      Also they could have called it 'Vim'. That would have been confusing.
