back to article Boffins brew up ideal Bond e-fit

Academics have used Ian Fleming's own opinion of how the ideal Bond would look to create a composite e-fit of 007, the Daily Telegraph reports. But what we need to know is...

...do the ladies find 'him' attractive?

If so, please could you link to a high-resolution version that I can print out and sellotape to my face.

So its Nicolas Cage to be the next Bond

It really looks like Nicolas Cage. After his showing in Ghost Rider maybe he's up for the challenge, maybe he can redeem himself for the Wicker Man fiasco.

    The Lost Baldwin?

Looks to me like they've created an image of a lost Baldwin brother. Can Alec Baldwin do a convincing Scottish/American accent?

    Cheers, Tony.

    Shades of Virtual Light?

I think that William Gibson first mooted this idea back in 1983 in the novel Virtual Light.

The authorities tracked down missing persons by asking if the person looked like anybody famous.

They then trawled newsites etc to identify sitings of the celeb, thus enabling them to track down the misper fairly quickly.

In the books Ian Fleming always said...

...Bond looked like Singer Hoagy Carmichael.

...who does look more Connery than Craig.

Could the researchers not have just read the books, and saved themselves the bother?

    Nah

It looks like a very young Christopher Lee.

    Looks rather like "Big Brother"

He reminds me of a younger version of "Big Brother" from the movie adaptation of George Orwell's "1984". License to kill indeed...

    I know who that is!

It's South Africa's favourite supporting actor -- Arnold Vosloo!

    Hoagy Carmichael?

    "See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fleming007impression.jpg"

Looks to me more like Basil Fawlty than Hoagy Carmichael.

Now there's a Bond to dream about. If only they had dumped Roger Moore and picked up John Cleese...

    Its Chris Sarandon

Its a young Chris Sarandon (as he looked in "Princess Bride" or "Fright Night").

    Dax Sheperd

Has a resemblance of Dax Sheperd, from Without a Paddle
