    If it works as well as the demo they did a year or so ago it will make such videos tolerable!

    No longer having to sit though 30 minutes of tedious juddery video when you can swoop though in 5 minutes of vaguely interesting and stable footage.

      Yes, as I recall it did far more than just taking every nth frame, it was pretty clever stuff.

        Yeah, it was doing a partial 3d reconstruction of the scene and smoothing camera motion through that, wasn't it? I guess optical image stabilisation isn't always sufficient for the sort of variation you see between shots a few seconds apart, especially over a prolonged period. So the trick is to impute the extra information from all the frames between, through scene reconstruction.

        But I also saw the video only once, a long time ago, so who knows?

    Missing the point

    This article completely misses the point of Hyperlapse. It shows some novel and very complex motion stabilization techniques. Saying that apps like this have been around for years shows only that you don't understand what this app is.
