    Simpsons^H^H^H NetApp did it

    Isn't that the crux of what NetApp announced with their previous project Mercury announcement (albeit with different write-through/write-back strategy)? Unless they are doing dedupe/compression/clustering/snapshotting/replication why would one care ? Just use a flash array at the back end or one of those new fangled hybrid arrays from NetApp, Starboard, Nimble, Dell, Tegile and be done with it. Or better yet, just use Virsto that VMware just bought. I imagine that data needs to be migrated from the legacy SAN to go through Pernix to work?
