    WTF?

..."you can glean the correct responses from our source code" ??

If that is true then your statement probably qualifies as one of the most ill considered and stupid statements in the history of the Internet.

Re: ..."you can glean the correct responses from our source code" ??

as they said, doing so is not cricket. it's on your honour as a gentleman to not hack the code and take the test in the spirit in which is was intended.

besides, there's no cash prize, there's not even a leaderboard, so no one's going to know the score you get. if you waste your time cheating and looking at the code, the only person you are cheating is yourself. no one else is going to know or care. but y'know, whatever you need to do to boost your self esteem...

What on God's Green Earth are you talking about?

Many people would think that posting a quiz and then saying that the answers all in the web page source code was pretty stupid. Obviously not everyone thinks that. Or even seems to understand it.

Re: Re: ..."you can glean the correct responses from our source code" ??

Evidently, you're the only one who thinks that. It wouldn't take our savvy readers long to work out they could get the answers from the source code, so we simply flagged the fact up front.

We mere mortals bow to your greater understanding of what constitutes stupidity, since we're clearly in need of enlightenment.

Re: ..."you can glean the correct responses from our source code" ??

Evidently you are the only one one who never thought about creating a quiz, and a damned good quiz too, WITHOUT the answers in the source code.

Savvy readers would certainly check to see if the answers were there but saying so up front only means that EVERYONE gets to do that and therefore all scores are meaningless.

    Hmm.

    15/50

Considering I've only read the Fleming books, and I've not seen a Bond movie post Moore, I'm not too disappointed.

        You Scored 19 / 50

Were you just clicking answers at random?

No, but apparently I'm not very good at Bond trivia, but that's ok by me.

  3. Sir Runcible Spoon

    Sir

A measley 19, and that mostly with guess-work

Not bad considering some of them were extremely trivial trivia.

Lots of fun nevertheless. Well done, have a Pint!

    Very hard

I consider myself a huge bond fan and I got 28/50 and even then some were lucky guesses.

I mean, knowing the exact punctuation of the numberplate of the Goldfinger Aston? Blimey.

Still, thanks for posting the quiz up; it was fun.

      Re: Very hard

24/50 - Fortunately Skyfall last night put the Aston's plate into my head, but an awful lot of (lucky) guesswork.

"I mean, knowing the exact punctuation of the numberplate of the Goldfinger Aston? Blimey."

BBC Iplayer has a feature from top gear on bond cars... ;)

    FAIL

    15/50

There were only 3 answers that I didn't think were guesses, and all were wrong. Guess I know stuff all about Bond films. My heart is breaking.

Not too shabby, there were some real stinkers in there. But fun nonetheless :-)

that was tough going. well done to anyone that gets above 20.

I'll explain how hard the quiz is: I drew up the questions, but that was a couple of months back. My memory being what it is, I managed 41/50.

  11. Mayhem

30/50 with roughly 4-5 that I clicked and went .. no, wait ... bugger!

    Good quiz :)

  15. Goldmember

Again, some with educated guesses and some complete stabs in the dark.. Although I did honestly know a good 4 or 5 of them :o)

    That was a bit in-depth.

20 / 50 and a few guesses (maybe three) I swear some were wrong answers, I will of course now watch quantam of solace and on her majestys secret service to prove I am right and should have another three points.

    :)

I shouldn't bother watching Quantum of Solace (Question of Sport) again, if I were you. There's only so many hours in a lifetime, and I'm sure you could usefully spend that time getting your cutlery really sparkling clean...

i think I got most of the ones I could work out and got lucky with a few guesses.

  18. Pen-y-gors

    I gave up...

on the second question - surely even mega-anoraks don't know the model numbers of the autogyro!

    1. AbortRetryFail

      Re: I gave up...

I confess that one was a complete guess for me. I happened to get it right, but not through any knowledge.

But I could have told you it was designed and flown by Ken Wallis though.

  19. Gazareth

    26 for me

Which seems to put me much higher up the list than I'd expected!

  20. Alan Edwards
    Thumb Up

    Good grief...

I thought I knew the Bond series pretty well, but I ended up with 26. Some inspired guesses, I think I actually knew less than 10.

I second guessed myself on a few - I knew Bell made jet packs, but I had it in my mind somewhere that the Bond one was made by Boeing.

Bloody hard, but some interesting trivia in there.

27 with quite a few guesses. Can I ask for a remark?
