    Never made a phone call?

    In my experience the big internet market in Kenya and other African countries, at least in urban areas, is mobile based. A mobile phone is a basic business need, and far more prevalent than land lines, computers, mainstream internet use, or even reliable home power (using a laptop or mobile phone as a light source at night is not just a myth).

    In this sense, Google have probably got the right idea - they seem to have their heads screwed on the right way over mobile internet and applications nowadays.

    why doesn't....

    why doesn't Google just team up with certain Nigerian outfits, then you could get an email, sponsored by Google, asking you to give your bank details in order to benefit from 55million dollars in former oil minister's wealth....

    That way Google can dominate the world and suck it's cash much faster....

    You know, we have some Nigerians working with us in development, they're smart, hardworking, and dedicated.

    English workers could learn alot from them, but they wont, they'll just sit back and cry like little babies.

    So you missed the big mobile phone boom in Kenya?

    There was some Beeb attention given to this, apparently there are a lot of Kenyans using mobile phones now, and there is even a proposition to allow them to send and receive money via mobile phone (as apparently they are not too big on ATM's out there).

    Yeah, I'm aware of the mobile boom in Kenya.

    But until recently (sadly) Kenya was a relatively enlightened country.
