Guys, please, please read the FAQ on the Kickstarter page!!
Guys, if you'd look at the FAQ on the Kickstarter page, it answers pretty much every question you could ask. They're doing a remake because Codemasters, who licensed the IP to them, *requires* it before they're allowed to develop a new game for the license. Also watch Al Lowe's update video, as well as Replay Games CEO Paul Trowe's(who playtested the EGA LSL 1 at 12!) for further info. Paul's is long, but pack with details and information. AND FOR THE RECORD, Al Lowe/Replay had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the two recent abortions bearing the Leisure Suit Larry name. Al makes this abundantly clear both on his website, and in interviews.
Also, this isn't just a "shiny coat of paint and glitter" remake. This is literally from the 'bones' up. In this interview(http://vimeo.com/40046424, starts at 6:00 mark), Al Lowe states that the Sierra archive was "flushed" during Sierra's "death spiral". It's GONE - they're literally doing all the artwork, ink & paint, and animation from scratch. They'll also be adding new voice overs(from the original LSL voice, Jan Rabson, and Neil Ross returns to narrate). They'll also add new content as their budget allows, to possibly expand the game a little. Believe me, these guys want nothing but the best for the LSL series, and ALL the classic Sierra adventure franchises!
More importantly, this is a HUGE STEPPING STONE. Replay(who are all Sierra veterans, by the way) are also negotiating with Telltale Games to get the license for Space Quest. And before you ask, Scott Murphy(one of the "Two Guys From Andromeda") has already said if they get the license, he'd be interested in doing a new game. Telltale also has the rights to King's Quest and Police Quest(and possibly Quest For Glory, but I'm unsure here). If LSL: Reloaded is a success, that opens the door for King's Quest and Space Quest to return, done by the Sierra veterans who made them a success. So if you want to see those series return in full glory, please, PLEASE support the Leisure Suit Larry remake. It can literally open doors if we help it succeed.
