    WTF?

Seems completely fair and reasonable - whatever are the courts coming to? And why did Unite fight this? If the forum had belonged to BA you can be sure we would have had a national strike on our hands by now.

      Unite...

Unite fought this because they love the BA cabin staff.

While I was being shafted at RBS with thousands upon thousands of jobs being off-shored, mass redundancies and attacks on the pension scheme, Unite did sod all (or at least achieved sod all). All the time this was happening they were sending us members of the union emails telling us how much good stuff they were doing at BA for the cabin staff.

"many of the allegations" levelled at Patel were "unfounded".

    That's "many", not "all".

So I hope that if this goes ahead, *all* of the allegations will be investigated to see if this guy is "fit to be a captain".

So where's smoke there must be fire, eh?

"Unfounded" allegations just means they can be dismissed out of hand; that doesn't indicate whether or not the others can be made to stick, nor whether they are true.

    Patel v. Unite

"Mr Patel 's requests for assistance in identifying the 42 anonymous users of the forum who were responsible for the posts complained of. Instead, he maintains, two of his letters of complaint were published on the BASSA forum by the branch secretary, Mr Duncan Holley, despite his express request that there should be no publication".
