back to article German court shoots down patent gripe against Apple

A German court in Mannheim has ruled against one of the patents in a suit brought by Samsung against Apple, one of the many battlegrounds in the tech titans' patent wars. Samsung can still appeal against the ruling and also has suits claiming a dozen or so other patents are being infringed by the fruitchomp-branded fondleslab …

    HEADLINE IN DAS 'BILD' NEWSPAPER

German courts are to replace all computer hardware over the next year.

Apples generous offer has saved the German government 40% in upgrade costs.

German judiciary have stated that the free ipads they have been given to make them more efficient will in no way lead them to make bias judgements.

LarsG, I see you have you now resorted to reading the German version of the Daily Mail in your longstanding quest to spew hate for Apple.

Especially from a tabloid that had an app called "Shake the Bild girl" rejected from the App Store (due to it's nudity cotent)?

Do you even believe the shit you're writing?

        nudity

Not allowing the 'shake the bild' girl is just a form of Apple censorship!

It's ok in the US to show lots of 'murder death kill but when it comes to showing a bit of 'ti**y' they get all worked up and self rightuous.

Accidentally flash a bit of ni**ple and all hell breaks loose.

I for one will stick to android for its porn content apps, oh yes!

Das Bild = The Sun, for Germany

Title says it all. Your news source is a sensationalist tabloid, the homepage of which is currently showing sufficiently much female flesh that those at work should probably not check for themselves.

In any case the courts in every other country seem to be able to come to absurd patent decisions without any third-hand gutter insinuations of corruption so I'm willing to believe the case was decided on the merits.

Quite clearly a rant by LarsG with no proof.

Unfortunately I am inclined to agree with him, the greed of big corporations knows no bounds, it's not personal ya know, it’s just business.

For example, Goldman Sachs, employed by the Irish government to advise it on how to deal with the bond holders of the discredited Anglo Irish bank such as Goldman Sachs. No conflict of interest, it’s just business.

      SATIRE.... YES

For goodness sake guys and gals get a sense of humour, you sound like a bunch of Germans at a comedy festival.

Crikey, I can't believe you've all gone and looked up the website to find the article.

What is it with the defensiveness of these fanbois and their downvoting? Then the personal attacks calling me a liar!

It's a tongue in cheek post.

I am writing this on an Apple iPhone 4s with the smug satisfied smile on my face that I have shaken the tree and the apples have fallen.

I will now retire for the evening thinking happy thoughts.

Oh, you should have said. I didn't realise that it was a joke, just like on Top Gear when they do their jokes.

And the very clear winner is ....

    The IP Lawers.

Seriously, both compagnies can spend themselves into a black hole without a clear winner, for the simple reason that a LOT of today's patents are just pure crap. When you have a patent on a design of the UI, then you have 20 more like it, it becomes nothing but laughing stock.

Patents are broken. They need a very serious scrubing and "back to basic" cleaning.

When it's that obvious you can do something, it shouldn't be patentable.

RE: HEADLINE IN DAS 'BILD' NEWSPAPER

So this is the reason for Apple's success - their customers' lack of critical thinking skills.

Apple says 'we're wonderful' so it MUST be true.

LarsG makes up a headline in Das Bilt and the same response from the fanbois.

Don't bother to check, just slag off Das Bild. (well worth slagging off, BTW, but not for printing something they haven't).

Can you prove there was no article like that in Das Bild? I got lost in the maze of other crap stories.

Maybe it was in the print edition only?

LarsG tends to have his "creative interpretations", but as far as I can recall blatant lying is a new low for him. Good to know if it's so, would help discredit his further rants.

          Contrary to popular belief ...

the Germans are not in any way efficient. Their society is massively antiquated, hoplesslty inefficient, conservative and a general pain in the arse to be part of. Having worked there for several years, I speak from my personal experience. Germany is hopelssly, pointedly, inefficient.

What the Germans are and Germany is, is highly organised. This is not the same thing.

err, no, it was me posting as me but under the AC tag....

I sensed straight away that he was being satirical and decided to say so,

its a sad sate of affairs that someone would think that somebody would be so pathetic to comment about themselves in the 3rd person on a web forum...

        pathetic really...

Is it the Tony Hancock radio episode where he's a gardener growing a prize marrow

...and he strolls into the court (to stop the council building a road over his garden, or something) and says, "Good morning, judge, have an Apple"?

"...."slavishly" copy Cupertino's iPhones and iPads."

Dunno about that, but Samsung's legal strategy seems awfully familiar.

Maybe Apple should have patented: "Sueing the fuck out of anyone, whether or not you have a leg to stand on"?
