    WTF?

Is that blood on the wall of the motel or a bizarre pattern?

It looks like you are sleeping in the site of a recent massacre!

      Underground...

You're looking at the rock the hotel's cut into.

My first thought was: CSI would have fun in there.

And I live just a few hours (15 or so) up the road.

What that is, is pre-marble. Limestone which has not undergone metamorphic heating.

    Bedroom decor

What the hell is that painted with, the blood and guts of the last person to stay there? Look up "Wolf Creek" and then leave very fast!

    Errr...

You seem to be staying in Dexter Morgan's kill room!

      Damage to comedy....

I thought the photos were shocking!

I found the article electrifying, too, it's great to read about all the current events.

I hope the fireys don't charge them for the callout...

OK! ok! I'm going, you don't have to shove...

Good thing the Phillipines decided to not be too negative about the whole thing. ;)

      Ok, I'll stop!

They just look at the situation through rose-tinted rather than polarizing glasses

        I'm on my way

    Dirty protest?

Nah, it's not blood and guts on the wall, someone's being having a dirty protest - presumably didn't like being banged up with only a dozen tinnies for company.

    British Heritage

When you're done looking for Britain's Space Heritage you should head over to Maralinga and check out Britain's Nuclear Testing Heritage. There should still be a fair bit of it out there!

It's 500km away, but that's nothing around these parts.

Solar car fires can be very hot

One of the Aurora solar cars from Melbourne caught fire during a race and the local police decided to use his fire extinguisher on it rather than let the driver get the correct one. The fire was so hot it melted the metal parts of the frame once the magnesium wheel ignited.

    Brits in the bush

Ah yes, the sight of a Brit out in the bush, legs clad in shorts and freshly exposed skin glowing the unique shade of white-blue that only a lifetime growing up under lowering grey skies of Lower Dullswitch or Smegma-on-Trent can give...
