Ok, the first sentence was not that bad. You could pass as a simple R fan who wants to see some big technology player pushing for your favorite language.
But then you wrote:
"Oracle has an impressive record of successfully folding in new technologies"
Which is an unashamed compliment to Oracle. Still laughing at that while trying to find a single technology outside the DB kernel where Oracle has some significant market share AND is gaining share from the competition. Anyone can buy another successful business, cut costs and increase support fees, but that's hardly "folding in new technologies".. PeopleSoft? Siebel? Oh please.
Having said that, lots of people with commercial interests post in forums everyday without disclosing their relationships with the matters that are discussed. My compliments for leaving your signature and current position so that readers can understand what your comment is about. Shows an unusual level of integrity which in the end may compensate for the superficial and biased comment.
