Worth noting that while it has lots of 'likes' it has a low rating (2 stars), which goes to show that a lot of people will go, "thats crap, but i like it"

    1. ArmanX

Doesn't that basically sum up reality television, various politicians, and the vast majority of Facebook?

      Stop

      I'm sorry D@v3, I can't let you do that.

We, the humble and unwashed masses, don't seem to be able to affect the star rating of any of the entries; we can like 'em, or we can sod off.

    3. Martin 47

      still no stinking title

Or they are thinking that will annoy nokia, I like it

    A dodo ringtone ?

Would certainly suit Nokia's sales chart.

are there descriptions of how the dodo call sounded ?

... given it got exterminated way before audio recording devices were available, what actually is known about the dodo's song ? Any references it sounded somewhat like Nokia's ringtone ?

am dying to hear what it sounds like but won't play on my work pc :(

shall have to wait until i get home, oh the suspense!!!!

    Sir

Ner ner ner ner, ner ner ner ner, ner nah nah nah nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

      When I read that..

"Ner ner ner ner, ner ner ner ner, ner nah nah nah nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

When I try to turn that into music in my head, all I get is

      Nah-nah NAH-nah

      Nah-nah NAH-nah

      Hey Heee-y

      Good-bye!

      Have to agree

The second entry is, for a progressive house fan like me, actually rather nice... :-)

  6. Chris Redpath

Even if it gets nowhere in the competition, I bet people will still download it and put it on their phones.

    Sadly

that sort of reflects the mess Nokia have got themselves into at the moment.

So good to see a thriving company

It's so good to see a company thriving to the point where spending money on a new font or a new ringtone won't negatively impact research and development of new products that will sell.

Were it not for the requirement that the new ringtone be derived from the old, I'd suggest variants of:

    Through Bein' Cool, DEVO.

Start me up, The Rolling Stones

Or just skip to the denouement:

    The Windows Start-up Sound, Microsoft.

    1. Kristian Walsh Silver badge

Actually, Brian Eno wrote the Windows XP startup and shutdown jingles.

    Not working

    Not working for me.

Shows NaN:NaN/NaN:NaN as the timestamps when it tries to play.

So someone is trying to feed it data as a timestamp, something is fubared.

Actually, the functionality of this equals the internet browsing functionality of my Nokia phone, ie. Mostly Broken, so perhaps it is intentional on Nokias behalf?

    Mostly Broken (an update)

Tried the site on IE, and it worked.

Microsoft crippling Nokia-related functionality on non-MS browsers these days.

The ringtone itself is mildly amusing.

Progressive Nokia is so dancy, it could almost be a BBC news jingle.

I have a Nokia 6700 slide, battery lasts a day, and its not even a smart phone, so I voted!
