      It's .NET and they think Print would scare off the beginners so that's why they've gone for TextWindow.WriteLine() instead.

        To be fair, the Print statement was conceived in the days when the output actually went to a printer in a majority of situations, so it is a little outdated now that we all use newfangled TextWindows instead.

          Not sure which versions of BASIC you are referring to? In just about every version of BASIC that I ever saw, the PRINT statement output things to the screen, not the printer.

      RedGate's DotNet Reflector has been a popular commercial de-compiler for years.

      Jad is a similar tool for Java bytecode. I have used them both and they have provided good insight to a number of projects. We also used them successfully for an integration project.

      Basically, you do not choose a managed platform if you want to make it hard for reverse engineers.

      Compare these to Boomerang (for C++) and you will see the difference in recovery!
