    I suspect if they had a Report One Get One Free amnesty period, the number of reports would nearly double.

      Yes, that's my thought as well - because of the increased fines, companies are not reporting things they were before and hoping that problems will go away. I can't wait for the first two or three cases to show them how wrong that strategy is!!

    The number of corporate attacks may have fallen, but that doesn't explain the sudden rise in the number of emails I'm getting (to multiple mail accounts) for 'Property Investment Opportunity in <insert Northern Powerhouse city of choice> City Centre' or 'I've recorded you watching Porn, you naughty boy. Send Bitcoin to ...'

    Business as usual then?

    Thing is they get it decrypted - how do they know the data has not been tampered with? These are for court cases, seems to be doubt could be thrown over any use of evidence from this lot where results etc were recorded and hit by malware later.
