It's a shame Yaoo! lost their way, they (amongst the dross) did some good stuff. I fondly remember their maps APIs that for a long time were way better than MS & Google (especially if you wanted to do server side stuff rather than JS browser based maps), & things like Flickr are still a great image resource (good stuff such as allowing people to set image "rights" so it was nice and easy to see what images could be used with attribution, for non commercial use, needed payment etc. )
