back to article Ready, aim... Ignition! Valley VC bigwig ejects after conduct complaints

Frank Artale, managing partner at Ignition Ventures, has resigned at the request of the board following multiple claims of inappropriate behavior. In a statement on Tuesday evening, Ignition said it had received a complaint about Artale on July 5, this year, and had investigated the allegation. The bigwig also had a gripe …

    Grown up?

From appearances it seems that many of these idiots never had their face slapped by someone in authority (a parent?) when doing "inappropriate" actions. If they want action that has no recourse, there ARE places in Nevada (as shown on HBO) that will accommodate said interest (for a small substantial fee). That being said, the fee in Nevada might be less than the legal hassles that might rise from such actions here in sillycon valley.

Someone in authority is not the relevant slap here. The relevant slap is being slapped by the object of their inappropriate aspirations there and then. In public, in front of everyone else all the way until a proper black eye. Bonus points for nail traces under it. So that he has to explain to his wife exactly why he looks like that too (*).

That can easily be arranged by the way. Just ship them to a software shop in Bulgaria, Serbia (and most of Eastern Europe for that matter) for a few months for re-education. Israel is also a good place for that. The ladies there can fend for themselves, do not give a damn and take no prisoners. They are also traditionally applauded when they do that - cases like this never reach the Human Remains department. It does not happen very often too. This is probably because everyone knows that it can happen if you cross the line.

Funnily enough, back in 2016 Ignition hired “an expert consultant to conduct sensitivity and anti-harassment training.” Based on the above revelations, it should ask for its money back.

Yeah, he should have learned how not to get caught.

    He should move DC.

He would fit right in with all of those politicians. Does anyone remember Ted Kennedy?

The boss is above the law....not....

I used to work at a small technology company based in California. When I joined that company I had to sit through 'mandatory sexual harassment training', training that was repeated every year for everyone who worked at that company. The annual employee performance review included a section that required signing that stated that I understood the company policies on sexual harassment (&tc.).

This was for a 100 person outfit. They took it seriously because the costs involved in not doing so can get out of hand (not that I'd expect any harassment -- the ladies who worked there were a pretty confident bunch, you'd mess with them at your peril. HR was run by a woman as well). So its really only a tiny minority of people who think they're in such important positions that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. The rest are playing with fire.

    Frank Artale?

    Frank Artale? Really?

    F. Artale?

    Fart Ale?

Was he an unwanted child that his parents would give him such a name?

Then again, probably better liked by his parents than the SF author who insists on including his middle name, because "Orson Card" without the "Scott" in the middle is ridiculous, even if it does remind us of the original autonomous vehicles.
