If I remember correctly his (alleged?) infidelity probably already did! (I may be wrong about that...)

To say nothing of any family get-together. Though I suspect there may not be many of them as of late...

Who cooks the food for those? They'd have to have food, even if all they did was throw it at each other.

            "Dominoes"

Good idea. If you get a good spin on it and the right glide angle you can probably throw a pizza quite a long way.

When you become the financially successful person in the family, it's amazing how "your money" is suddenly seen as "our money".

If you cut off the financially irresponsible ones, after the intense anger and scathing insults have passed, they feel justified getting their hands on your money at any cost! They actually feel they are morally in the right tricking or stealing from you. I guess we can add hacking to that.

    WTF?

    Holy drama lama mama!

Okay - lets get this straight.

Gordon R. had his father-in-law running some aspect of his restaurant biz. Fires said F-I-L. For what it is not clear (here .... I'm quite sure there is data elsewhere). F-I-L decides to find out if Gordon is bouncing around information about F-I-L's (possible) fling, so recruits his children in an attempt to hack into the computer systems of Gordon's businesses to find out.... and gets bagged in an anti-hacking investigation ....

Am I detecting an unbelievable level of stupid here or am I just missing something?

The mistress is a diversion. Does anyone not believe the hack was purely financially motivated?
