    Hackers has broken into the SWIFT system

    Come off it elReg, they didn't hack SWIFT, they hacked an Oracle database running on Microsoft Windows.

    Wondering whether news like this have encourage testing of blockchain technology by diverse parties (e.g. VISA and some banks)

    But the attack on the Bangladesh Central Bank didn't involve SWIFT being broken into. Neither did the other attacks that came to light (with a lot less publicity) shortly afterwards.
