How does anyone keep track of all this stuff from EMC? They've officially become the sleazy fake watch salesman on the corner of the street.....just opening that trench coat "whatever you want, I've got you covered...vblock? no? okay how about vspex? no? ok? how about vxrack? no? okay"

I agree. Its like they just divided their engineers up into a half dozen teams and told them "go invent your vision and don't worry if it does pretty much the same thing another team's product does, we'll leave it to marketing to sort out where it fits in our overall product line and strategy"
Who the heck knows what sort of support you'll get for some of these a few years down the road, if you happen to choose an unpopular solution that gets killed a year after intro like some of their lines have been.
Wow, EMC has already become DellMart. Our old converged stuff still works great for traditional apps, but this new hyper-conv solution works great for robo and small scale, and this new hyper-conv thing will work better for large scale and new apps. One uses vsan and the other uses scale-io, and one uses both, well since vsan still isn't enterprise i guess. And all this is supposed to make things easier. really. good luck with that
