SaaS doesn't help

my experience of SaaS accounting is that the vendor (a very large one) still does not update the software. Until suddenly one day the feature disappears entirely and you complain to be told that that feature is now available on a new subscription level - yep your old features at just 10 TIMES the old subscription cost. And my only recourse is to change vendors and try and migrate my data from one proprietary cloudy thing to another with no guarantee that the next vendor won't do the same. At least with the old model features didn't (and couldn't) arbitrarily disappear!
