    How much do you care?

Nice to hear you could care less, but as I don't give a monkey's I couldn't.

Re: How much do you care?

Often wondered about that, we need a second pedant opinion though..

Down votes for being open minded, I should have known.

          WTF?

Re: How much do you care?

Ok I didn't want to do this, but to all you fellow pedants:

How many words and/or phrases in the English language can you count that now mean the opposite of what they originally meant?

Re: How much do you care?

Typical Trolls don't think too hard, they just let the knee jerk reaction take over, I'm waiting for down voters to return and redeem themselves. Otherwise it's just Trolls down voting me and not genuine pedants.

So I should say the opposite of what I mean? Downvote means upvote? 'No means yes, your honour'.

We should embrace 'irrigardless'? Give up on education?

Re: How much do you care?

      Note to El Reg.

      Write out 100 times.

      "I couldn't care less."

Otherwise it just makes you out to be a drooling Apple fanboi.

Please don't join out trans Atlantic cousins and turn English on its head.

See also "Cave" instead of "Cave in".

It's just a quote, mate. Have a listen.

If it's just a quote, it needs a subtitle.

Re: How much do you care?

I'm with you, it should be 'couldn't care less'.

It's American vs. English English again. This came up on A Way With Words a while back, the 'could care less' is more common in the US, 'couldn't care less' more in the UK. It was probably an American being quoted in the title.

Tempting to end with 'like I could care less', but I do care, so I won't...

    "COULD CARE LESS"

I'm sorry, but this makes you an idiot!

    "I COULD CARE LESS"

That's it, you just made the list.

    Trollface

Considering that they've highlighted that particular phrase, I wouldn't be at all surprised if all the pedants above have been righteously trolled.

      they could care less

      Quite

I suspect many commentards have been trolled

        Re: Quite

Trolled into replying or trolled into listening to it?

In my case it was the second. The offending English is at 28:57.

          Re: Quite

Quite clearly highlighted by reg editors as being incendiary - there were other, clearly more relevant quotes they deselected ;)

If you could care less how much do you actually care?

I couldn't care less about the strange American distortion of the English language. I think it has something to do with their education system or maybe lack thereof.

    1. Cliff

I could care less what you're opinion is your an idiot so their.

It is impossible to underestimate just how upset some of us get about these things.

"Kids are terrified of Microsoft's Minecraft buyout"

    Yes. True.

Two kidiots. Both Minecraft enthusiasts. Both bothered by possibility of change within the Minecraft universe. Microsoft had better tread very carefully else they'll have bought $2.5B of NEGATIVE "goodwill and other intangibles."

  10. Ken Darling

    Think about what your saying

"I could care less" - there is still room for you to care less about something. In other words, you do care about it.

    1. BlartVersenwaldIII

Re: Think about what your saying

But it's not their saying - it's been an idiom for decades and I don't think I've ever seen it attributed to any particular commentard.
