The properties of such vacancies, particularly photoluminescence, have been of interest to researchers for a long time".

    No wonder these eggheads never get dates. "Oh, I study nitrogen-vacency centres...huh...now where did she go?"

      They probably get more dates than you realise

      I know a few women that would consider a glowing diamonds (Or Quantum Gemerald if you will) to be the ultimate in shiny shiny.
