back to article YES! It's the TARDIS PC!

No, it won’t allow you to enter the Vortex, “that mysterious region where time and space are”, as Terrance Dicks so aptly put it, “one.” Nor, even if you max out the available storage options, will it give you space enough to hold the entire Matrix. Its CPU is not APC. But - let’s be honest - you don’t buy a PC casing that …

Depends on which doctors TARDIS, due to set changes and aging of props the old girl has had many a hue of blue.

I for one would love this to add to my TARDIS collection.

      Allegedly not from SCAN:

High quality aluminium model matches official Pantone blue colour of the original Tardis.

      Very cool.

I suspect the pictures sent were modified to remove the background.

It really seems weird that the BBC should have trademark rights over the design, given that it is an MPS design, but apparently the MPS didn't do well in its case against the BBC:

It was easy for the BBC to establish prior art by sending the design back in time...

    You have three options :

    A) Give me a fifty quid royalty on each sale.

    B) The Earth gets it. I've had enough of saving the poxy thing anyway.

    C) I'll take one free unit in full and final settlement. Email thedoctor@gallifrey.plnt for delivery details. It's not much to ask and it'll save you a lot of trouble. You know it makes sense.

How can you review this without mentioning if it vworps when switched on? I can imagine the tears on a young boy's face on paying Mac-level prices for a TARDIS PC that doesn't vworp.

    Design issues?

Even if we ignore the colour of the paint, surely they didn't place the only air inlet above all the air outlets? Did they?

    1. TRT Silver badge

      Re: Design issues?

Forget it if you overload the PSU and blow a fuse... those mercury-filled fluid links are a bugger to get hold of.

    2. Anonymous Coward

      Re: Design issues?

Since heat rises, I would expect that the top vents are for the exhaust and the PSU (on the bottom) is pulling in cool (and dirty) air and blowing it upwards like the early Pentium Slot II PSUs. The two fans would seem to be for additional stirring of the interior air so as to ensure that all the heat pockets are disrupted. Of course, if they are blowing out and the top is the input, one can still easily reverse the flow with some fairly easy wiring adjustments ;)

I also have to wonder about the comments concerning the color. One mentioned paint. Really? They don't have coloured aluminium in your time?

Lets just slightly modify an Apple review...

Once again a shocking example of disregard for customers by going for style over substance and at a premium price point. You could get a much better spec'd machine for cheaper elsewhere hell I could build one in my basement running a modified version of Arch linux compiled manually, but no doubt the Whotards will be queuing up outside television centre to buy one just so they can brag to their mates on newsgroups that they wrote their latest fan fiction on one.
