    Gotcha!

    All the big companies are already on Oracle or SAP and the cost of moving is so huge! If both Oracle and SAP charge much higher maintenance fees then there is nothing the companies can do but pay.

    They could consider moving to a more unknown solution but would you take the risk as CIO?

    SAP & Oracle have the worlds biggest companies by the short and curlies!

    Diifficult and Expensive

    My experience of SAP is that its systems are so difficult and expensive to get working properly that it makes companies reluctant to move off the platform having gone through so much pain in getting it working in the first place. But maybe the recession will force companies to take a fresh look at moving away from expensive, clumsy, monolithic systems such as SAP
