      There was a short-lived version made for North America, but it was terrible and it never made it passed the pilot broadcast.

      Since the "Hollywood marketeers" generally do poorly remaking British Shows, that's a good thing. (American Coupling and Red Dwarf come to mind)

      The IT Crows is on Netflix though.

        They mess the shows around too much when they remake them.

        UK Version - Boss is an idiot and the team can outsmart him.

        US Version - Boss is a genius and the IT people are idiots.

        Puts a different spin on the characters and makes them less endearing. Though the change was probably made by someone in a boss type position who is an idiot but wants to make his position appear to have the upper hand rather than his subordinates.

    Transphobic

    Series 3, Episode 4 ruined the entire show for me with its cheap transphobic "humour".

    It might have been redeemed, had the joke only been on Reynholm as the only transphobic one in a bunch of otherwise indifferent people; but as the episode was presented, the audience were expected to join in with the jibes at the expense of April [the transsexual character]. This really is not acceptable in the 21st century.

      You know it never even occurred to me to think that it was a jibe at transsexuals.

      I thought that episode was excellent the fight scene was magic.

      When I watched that episode, I thought the joke was on the transphobics. All of them, with Reynholm leading, acted quite ridiculously.

      And even if I was wrong and you`re right... C'mon, man, its a COMEDY, and in comedies the usual thing is to attack everybody and everything.

      I didn't take it as transphobic. April opened up emotionally to Douglas. When Douglas showed himself to be small minded and rejecting the person he fell in love with, in the crassest terms, she got revenge.

      Later on, as he modifies the sketch, he is showing regret

    I'll watch it if they bring back Exec Producer Ash Attalla (Series 1-3). When he left, Series 4 was pants compared to the rest. That is the reason series 5 was never made even though it had already been greenlit.

    Damn You, Matt Berry.

    Matt Berry ruined it.

    When he joined, the writing became more focused on the relationship between him and Jen, than on the actual 'IT Crowd' of Jen/Moss/Roy :( Less IT focused jokes too.

    Due to that, it just became another so-so low-budget sitcom. The Chris Morris era was SO much better (and I hate Chris Morris usually).

    "I'm disabled" episode

    I remember: They are in a theater, after the play, Jen with a puzzled face just saw Roy in a wheelchair … then she turns and… “excuse me” “yes mam” and it is Moss in a bartender’s uniform.

    I think I had a mini-stroke, so hard I laughed. I felt dizzy.

    Turning it on and off again

    Was working with a sysadmin on Friday who said something along the lines of ". . . I might have to reboot it, this can't be right it's supposed to be Linux that needs rebooting not AIX!", nb for anyone interested I'm fairly sure it didn't require a reboot in the end.
