Gary McKinnon's legal team said they will take their fight against his extradition all the way to the European Court of Human Rights on Monday, as the highest court in England began deliberations on whether to turn him over to US authorities. The London hacker now faces an anxious wait for the judgment on his latest appeal, …

"When this is the case, the court where HARM WAS DONE (ie the US) has jurisdiction."

If it isn't a crime to do it in the UK (to a computer in the US or anywhere else), then you have no jurisdiction, (despite thinking that your laws somehow apply to the entire world) because there's no offence.

If it IS a crime in the UK, then he should be tried in the UK.

Don't delude yourself that this is about justice. Make no mistake, this is about the US Department of Defense getting vengeance for being made to look like the incompetent fools that they are. Do you work for them? It certainly sounds like it.

If you read my post you may have seen that it had nothing to do with my imagined support for the US administration. I agree with you that it is corrupt and evil, any perception otherwise is misplaced. I am merely pointing out the obvious fact that hackers are a self appointed group who think they have the right to access information that they have no right to and decide that they should break down security to prove that it's insecure.

Back to my analogy, would you like it if I smashed you kitchen window to prove it wasn't strong?

    > Think how easily one can get into your system, hide a folder on your hard drive, fill it with pictures of child pornography,

    > only impotent morons use this to compensate for their own short comings

    > We need a Stevie Wonder avatar; because even he could see this guy is a twit.

Yep, I think that just about sums up Aodhann's attitude.

I wonder if he works for the organisations whose ludicrously lax security meant they were left looking like idiots?

    Excuse me Crypty!!!!

CANADA, proudly holds the place as the US of A's 51st state.

Well, it would seem proudly from our governments spineless attitude toward foreign policy.

You can, however, be Their 52nd state.

The truth about UFOs has been kept for too long.

The truth about UFOs has been kept for too long. Mr. McKinnon is just a US treat against people who want to disclose the truth. MR. McKinnon is a world hero.

If the US Govt has such secret data. Why would they have it accessible via the internet?

If it was so secret, why would their computer systems be so easy to hack into?

If the data was so sensitive. Why would the Govt even acknowledge its existence?

    The whole thing is ridiculous.

If people in charge of such "secret" data are that stupid. THEY should be held accountable for allowing the data to be accessible so easily. It should be under Very Heavy lock and key. AND NOT ON THE INTERNET OR CONNECTED TO ANY PHONE LINES.

Put THOSE govt people in prison.

    Not the curious ordinary citizens.

    This is Madness.

SHAME ON THE EVIL, IGNORANT, INSANE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS

Everyone should watch Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" and live and let live.
