The Belgian researcher who last year gave the world the KRACK attack has returned with what he says is a refined version of the vulnerability. KRACK was first disclosed roughly 12 months ago by Mathy Vanhoef of Flanders university KU Leuven. It was a protocol attack, meaning any implementations that followed the standard …

Where are they? The CIA, Homeland Security and GCHQ haven't signed off on them yet.

Re: Hey You Wireless vendors!

I'm a bit worried by this claim the researcher makes:

We show that the updated 802.11 standard is still vulnerable to reinstallations of the group key

I hope "updated 802.11 standard" isn't referring to WPA3. Otherwise we need WPA4, or at least WPA3.1...

Bug fix?

Sounds like the "bug fix" has been quite standard - bugs are more often moved somewhere else than fixed. They find the bug and then fix it, but don't bug-test the fix, "There's no need to test it again, I've fixed it."

Mayo

Wasn't that the Netherlands? In Belgium you get mussels with the fries, if memory serves me right. And some nice beer...

Seems like I should drive over for a visit soon!

Re: Mayo

No, that's Belgium all right. Dutch people eat their fries with a white sauce (frietsaus) that doesn't deserve to be called mayonnaise.

Re: Mayo/Frietsaus

You are completely correct. If I wish to have real mayonaise with my fries, I make it myself.

Re: Mayo

No, the Dutch have some sugary white thing called frietsaus. Mayonnaise and good beer are here ;)
