    That there is the real reason, as usual : money, profit and shareholder ROI.

    Customers are just the inconvenience that companies put up with to get money.

    MU can buy out INTC in 2019

    Micron has the option to call Intel's 49% of the joint venture (which is just the Lehi fab at this point) in 2019, so they kids will most likely be with MUmmy sometime in 2019. If they're not, that does to bode well for 3DXP.

    Maybe because it doesn't work right?

    The throughput, latency, and endurance are still nowhere near where they need to be for it to work as initially promised. Considering Intel's seemingly continuous execution problems these days, it's possible that Micron doesn't see a reasonable way forward with the technology.
