    Network functions virtualisation and "essential patents"

    Is this an attempt to impede Open Source through onerous and expensive licensing issues. What commercial companies helped ETSI in drawing up the standard. Is this yet another attempt to sneak FRAND and software patents in the backdoor.

    Licence management is indeed important.

    We decided to insist on OSI-accredited licences as far as possible. It just makes everything easier that way. For one thing, there's no need to worry about staff copying anything from workstations, if there's nothing on there that anyone would object to them copying .....
