back to article Facebook to digital ad biz: OK, we'll allow you to mark our homework

People in sales and marketing are typically...

“complicated, nontransparent, inefficient and fraudulent,” it is known, says everyone who is not in sales and marketing. Adverts are part of everyday life, and generate a tiny bit of revenue shouting about a new shiny that I probably will avoid due to seeing advertising for it. How much "advertising" do the nice folks who make the Raspberry Pi have to do to "push boxes?" None. Not one fucking thing. Good products have a way of jumping off the shelves into people's pockets. Toothpaste? Yeah, I'll buy some, but not because I saw an advert for it on Facebook. Adverts are for muggles. I hope someone invents a clever name for viewing an advert, then avoiding the product and purchasing from a competitor that does not spew their message into my eyeballs for no good reason. Anti-vertizing? Don't ask me.

Nice cesspool Facebook & Google have there

With no competition or open source alternatives coming now if ever. Look at Microsoft and how it still dominates the world. Which shops even offer Linux as an alternative to update-happy and slurp-happy Win10?

Everyone thought something else would come along and knock Facebook off its perch long ago. But after reading those links in the article, its clear that'll never happen. Welcome to your dystopian future today folks:

Diddling Ad Numbers?

Well as all Ad's are basically lies, lying about Ad numbers is sort of par for the course.

See Icon for what I'd like to do to all Ad Agencies and Ad slingers.
