    Storing customer details does not need ICO registration normally.

    Using CCTV does require registration but a lot people think that storing basic customer details needs ICO registration, it often doesn't. See https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/register/self-assessment/

    Everyone has to comply with the Act even if registration is not required.
