    Missing important information!

    No mention of the important bits i.e. cutting from what to what and when. (A change from 8% to 7% is a cut!!)

    Searching, I found on BBC & WSJ:

    From: Variable up to 8%?

    To: Zero

    When: "The final technical details will be worked out until December." It will then need each country to implement the changes.

    Finding out how quick the UK has done such changes in the past is left as an exercise for the journalist!

    Why do so many articles on El Reg and the media in general leave out the important bits?

      Import duties are set by the EU and collected by HMRC. If member states set their own rates, then people would route their imports through the country with the lowest rate.
