+1 for Worms

Don't like the new 'pretty' versions with trillions of weapons but the PlayStation port of the original version still gives endless hours of hilarity (especially with with Banzai Mode, Sheep and Banana Bombs enabled)

Also great fun was 4-on-screen Timesplitters, with sneaky peeking at the other players of course :)

And I got all my mates into Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, one of the best multiplayers ever!

Re: Go grab market, kill competition ....

I was thinking the same thing. I'd snap up a couple of Surface 1's for £99 and while in the short term it would take sales away from the Surface 2, it would massively grow the RT user base and would be good for the platform and its Store. I don't think it would do much damage to what's already a rather beleaguered brand. C'mon Satya, make a bold first move!

Modern apps

I got Win8 early on and started off using the 'modern' apps for email, FB, news etc. I've found that I've slowly and subconsciously moved back to doing everything on the desktop. I've also installed Start8. I did try TIFKAM but it's just too difficult and frustrating to do what you need to do. Win8 itself is brilliant though - rock solid and very fast.

Re: FM vs DAB

I bloody hate DAB. We get iffy FM reception so after being bombarded with adverts on the BBC with 'D Love' going on about how great DAB is we took the plunge. It's completely useless, we get no BBC stations whatsoever or the wife's Classic FM. We get something called 'Heart' which is terrible and sounds like it's underwater half the time, and 'Gaydar' which is clear as a bell. Thanks. Fortunately the thing is also an iPod dock. So is it our fault because we live in a coalmine or in the Outer Hebrides? No, we live on the south coast, near Brighton, along with a few million other people.

IIRC, it's basically a backronym and they named if after Eos, the goddess of the dawn. It's not a good one is it, It's a very dull phrase and doesn't even mention the autofocus, which was the big deal when the 650 first came out. Still got mine, works perfectly!

as my 'walking about' phone (main phone is a Galaxy Note). Phone is well made and call quality excellent. WP8 runs very smoothly and is a pleasure to use, I'd give it a try before writing it off. Only downside for me is no notification LED (and no NoLED app equivalent), notifications appear on the lock screen instead.

Re: Poor AMD

"Fusion is way better than anything Intel has on offer". Really? I read the reviews and it looks like a low-power processor with a built-in so-so graphics part. I went Core i7 - and an AMD graphics card. Is it better for certain markets (enterprise perhaps)? Not flaming, just curious.
