Fine newses

In MS to issue emergency patch for potent IE vuln

Thumb Up

Here we see why I so often am telling not to use the Firfox. With IE I know I will see this mend as soon as we know of the hole and here we see it as I predict.

With Firfox we would be always reading about further delays to the latest version and he leave us open to the abuses for various extra months.

Why still they bang on with head against walls?

In Firefox 3.6: I am more than my Monkey

Thumb Down

Why he still scrape around looking for small performance boosting when we see clearly that browsers building with Jav will never give me the performance I need. Why they not use compiling language to write browser if they seek most gain? I use IE8 as it is giving me the speed and the security that I desire and he comes free with the Windows and looked after by the Windows update so we have no problems.

IE is only choice in business world

In Firefox flaws make up 44% of all browser bugs?

Thumb Up

In our company we must have IE because we need the security that comes with not having the open source. Open sources are good for the student hackers who plays with his simple codes in his bedrooms but for our proper businesses it must never be the option.

Also Firefox suffers us with the obviously problems of a Jav platform, while Safari and Opera have the niche codes without the support we need, and Chrome has the spam adverts built in, so IE is our best choice.

In Firefox to warn users of insecure Adobe Flash

Thumb Down

Why Firefox not just fix the bug instead of just tell the users about them?

With the IE we see that they can fix them quick with the update on the next day and user is not filled with worries. Why can the Firefox not be the same?

I will guess that it is the open source cause of problem - if the coding man might be on holiday or busy with his exams then they must just put out the notice for a while to warn me not to use the Firefox until they fix it? This is why I must pay for my software for the safety and to be nicely relieved of my tensions.

Why Free?

In FSF launches Windows 7 anti-upgrade letter campaign

WTF?

I am not understanding this free software cults. Why must it only be good thing for software to be free?

What else we see in life that takes many men-months or years to make and then people say it must be free? What is wrong for programmer man to expect some monies for his fine skills and all his working time put in?

Perhaps it all just comes in from student with long and greasy hair and heavy metal t-shirt and wifi called "Use-of-W3apons", who works on the Linux free instead of studying for my tax pounds. But when he goes away and must have a job he stops making the Linux free and is happy to take some money. And so it goes on that the Linux is only come from students which we find to be the bad reason for always the rewriting of the file system and things as each has own wheel to reinvent and no experience of the proper skills we seek from operating system man.

I do not see why you say this. But then you hide as Anonymous so I know you have not the courage to stand by it.

You tell story about Microsoft patch which waits two years but of course you are offering no backup story to explain what you say as true evidence.

I am happy with what I know to be based on properly looking at news and the technology papers. I am using Microsoft most times but still there must be times when I can recommend the alternatives when I have made proper research to prove it is the wisest of choices.

It seems many on the forums are not do their research as well like me and just shoot their hips when they see chance to beat brow Microsoft.

Is a warning to many freeboys

In Bug exposes eight years of Linux kernel

FAIL

Many are often claim the Linux is the best and free but this shows that it fails to be the case.

Windows has many security update but never do we find a bug left in place for 8 years! In fact Windows always will update more often with a new versions to ensure it is more secure than the last one (we see NT ant 200 and 2003 and the newer ones and XP and Vistas for our examples).

When we see the Linux men not bother to change the softwares for 8 years we must worry. This is why I choose not to have it on my computers where I am working.

In Mozilla squashes critical bugs in Firefox

Unhappy

You say me an "idiot" which is not very nice from you.

Why you take it granted that he is more safe because they fix the bugs quicker and more often? How about it is only necessary to fix so many times because they are many more security vulnerability in the beginning? It is not enough to just say what you say - my logic is equal and valid so I am not an idiot like you say.

Who are the people who "it is considered far more secure" like you say? I see lots on the board here who do not agree - perhaps they call you idiot too?

Anyways you are not a nice person I think.

@GaryF

In Firefox 4.0 flashes lusty leg at Windows lovers

Thumb Down

Yes GaryF has hit the button on the head. Firfox uses all my memory when I use it by accident - that is why I must use the IE for my efficiency. It seem obvious to me that they are silly to use Jav for a browser - it always slow and leaks the memory as we have no way to destruct the objects.

IE8 is the best one

In Web browser makers line up battleships

Thumb Down

Always this same talk of Firfox against the Internet Explorer. Why must people try to always put the Microsoft one down when we know it comes for free and works best on the web sites? Also as I say before the Firfox Javs will always be its large downfall as it is most slow and also uses all my memory up in one go.

For me and my friends it is a no brain to choose IE8 as the best one.

P.S. also to please take some salt on the statistic that they say about users of the browser - due to some details in confusion with something we call the "users agent" most people are not sure which browser the customer chooses - many IE browsers flavour appear as though they are the Firfox through IE sending Mozilla to be sure that site will still serve it. This dates back to time when Sun tries to hoodwink the web from Microsoft with Java applets.

Bob Gateaux

Why they keep on with this?

In Firefox 3.5 set to land tomorrow

Unhappy

It is dead man walking with all the security flaw it has and slowness of Jav performance instead of Visual C++ of IE8 choice. I worry that many are led to this by spamware in the emails and do not choose to use in logical fashion. Why can Microsoft not add to Windows an update that will step in to recommend the problems with Firfox and then to direct to IE8 download site? Then people can be protected from all this every month.

Nothing to see here

In Gartner: Windows 7 upgrade catch for XP converts

Thumb Up

Why all the fuss is made?

Who want to turn Windows 7 into XP anyway if they are letting you try Vista instead? Vista goes much faster than the Linux and it has the extra security pop-ups so this would be your best choice.

Bob Gateaux

What is wrong?

In Firefox users flip out over sneak MS add-on

Thumb Up

I cannot see what there is you complain about here. Microsoft are provide us with the system on which the Firefox Javs can run so it is up to them if they wish to correct them to run better. I think we should be thanking the Microsoft people who provide us with the extra .Net functions in the Firefox free of charge. They do not have to help the Firefox people but they do because they want the Windows to always keep being the best it can be.

iPhone people are all very daft ones with too much pounds in the pocket

In Rumor rubberizes iPhone 3.0

Thumb Up

iPhone smells bad and looks out of date with the white on everything. It is the style which dates so quickly and they make you buy new ones to remain in the trends.

I laugh at all who have one of them and will laugh easier at them when they are lit up using the new battery more wastefully.

It is what Apples have always done though - they only sell them to trendy people who think Microsoft is not good because it make a success of it's job.

I am much rather having the machine which does the jobs properly - both for my computer and for my portable music. I save money without the iPhone and keep it in my pocket anyway so what is the difference? Except when I get it out to wave at the iPhone fool who has his white poor-quality earphones in my face on the trains.

I shall buy Intel next for my company

In Intel hit with largest ever EU fine

I decide on what to buy and I must always choose Intel as it runs better with the Microsoft systems and does not need the Linux like AMD does and is faster too. This means we can still use our best applications at work.

This is the folly of the Javs

In What if IBM doesn't buy Sun?

Stop

We cannot be surprised to learn that Sun is having no money left to make it's computers. Many years ago now they launched the Javs which we use to make the popular applets.

They make two big mistakes when they make this.

First they do not charge any monies for the Javs. This means people have them free and must not pay for them. With Microsoft they did the C Sharp instead and for this we must pay with the Visual Studio. This way they keep it on an even keel and make the monies they need. With Sun they spend monies on the Javs and get none back. This is why Javs are now more broken because of decay from cheap maintenance over those few years.

Second mistake they make is the very promise of the Jav which is that it must work on each machine not just the Sun one. This mean that we just take their Jav and put it on the Windows where it runs best and not have to buy the big Sun box which take up more space.

Sun makes these mistakes in the early years but even then some of us would see the folly. Since then they do not change and they run out of the VC monies and must seek more.

IBM should write own new language and not buy the Javs. It will be better to have this as we can then have new features and not have the Entity Bean which slows me down.

In Firefox exploit sends Mozilla into 'high-priority fire drill' mode

Stop

This show the risk of using the fringe browsers. We must all take away the heed from this story and not spread using the insecure ones.

If you see on the Internet Explorer they have the padlock which tells you all is well. On the Jav ones they cannot do this with the full knowledge of our safety. Who is to know if a terrorist has my password once you have been on the web pages with a Javs browser like this Firefox one?

Bob Gateaux

No need to fear

In Newfangled rootkits survive hard disk wiping

Thumb Up

Where I worked on the Jav before we had to have the unix and much feared the root kit.

But solution is simple in new modern times. Now we use the Windows where it has no root user in the accounts so we must fear the root kit no further. It is most happy to make us all fear the security issues a little less so I commend the windows if you suffer root worry in your enterprises.

Bob Gateaux

I think they make mistake

In Microsoft promises IE web-standards love

Stop

I think Microsoft make mistake to be like the other browsers. Internet Explorer is the best one and others should move instead to follow it and its good features.

Microsoft must not use Jav for their programs to slow them down. Instead it is better that they run the fastest and with more security - you see with the Javs being inside the JVM it is most possible for a spying program to see what runs and copy my password. This is why I am not using the ones like Firefoxes.

Bob Gateaux

@richard: still doesn't sort out...

In Firefox went ton up in bugs in 2008

Thumb Up

This is most correct Richard and it is as I say before - the Firfox will always run the much slowest because of the Javs. It is the price we pay for portability and the dream of write-once-run-most-times.

But for me the slowest cannot be my desire since I must have speed on my internet at all times, and for this I settle my choice with the free internet Explorer which I gratefully recieve.

Bob Gateaux

Better to just use IE

In Firefox went ton up in bugs in 2008

Thumb Up

I decide not to have the Firfox because of too slow - this will always be the problem when writing a browser in Javs.

The IE comes free and does all my needs and it can use the ActiveX which make things run better and more exciting.

In 'Beer Hunter' lifts 40,000 pints of Guinness

Unhappy

"Its the duty which which makes it £2.90 a pint - government probably makes more money off a pint than than the brewery"

That's simply not true - although the breweries and most landlords would love you to believe it.

The duty in the UK in 2006 (sorry I don't have the 2007 figures to hand) on a 5% pint of beer was just 38p per pint (there's VAT too but that applies to most things).

The breweries and landlords use any minor budgetary increase to smack a load more on top to increase their margins. It has become standard practice in the UK to increase the price of a pint of beer by at least 5, and quite often 10 pence whenever the chancellor puts a penny on a pint. That's where the real rip-off is going on.

SRB Reuse

In NASA inks deal for Shuttle replacements

Paul F states that the SRBs "will still be reusable".

Shuttle SRB reusability is one of the great myths of the Shuttle program.

In order to "reuse" an SRB it first has to be dismantled right down to component level, and every component retested. Those that pass will then be used in building new SRBs.

The entire process costs just about the same as bulding new SRBs from scatch.
