RHA
As one of the winners of the RHA 'phones I can confirm the sound quality is excellent for the price-point. Definitely better than the Sennheisers I was using (CX400s)
I disagree
The kind of people who buy suits in Savile Row aren't affected by a recession. It's the people who buy ones that cost in the low £100s that are
I think
LPF has used Google Translate from English to Urdu to English
No
Apple - FOAD as soon as possible
Eh?
Do people actually watch that garbage show beyond the first episode?
Though...
... I do like the way the link for OS OpenSpace Web-Map Builder is a 404.
I can't ubnderstand
Why anyone would pay even $4.95 for an Apple product.
As it's..
... registered by an individual I reckon it's just cyber-sitting.
Thanks for that
I thought the battery life wasn't as advertised, I'll give it a go and just put it in the case when I'm reading and OH is asleep.
Email addresses
can't cope with email addresses with more that one dot after @. i.e. dsl.pipex.com. Had to crearte a gmail account for the OH
No
it's because it's raining e-coli the whole time.
You could...
.... always use it as a games console with one of those disk things!
I thought
the second PS was PPS.
Not necessarily true
The corporate I work for issues Nokia as standard. No smart phones, just phones - what they are intended for in a work environment. Those who need more get a Blackberry - and there aren't that many of those.
I don't....
..... have a smartphone, and don't particularily want one.
Any reasonable size business
Won't be exclusively running MS - it's horses for courses. We run Windows, SLES, i5/OS, AIX, SQL, Oracle, DB2, Netezza and a myriad of others on appliances etc. MS has it's place as to many others.
Vegetables
I thought paring was something you did to vegetables, not laptops and USB sticks.
In actual fact
Not exactly the same price, a lot bloody cheaper. I live in a small town in Somerset that's not unbundled at all therefore slow speeds and expensive....
I thought
the crappy nacho things sat on top of the sick
Pot, Kettle
You mock his 'quites'. WTF is gonna?
What?
8 hours and no Linux/MAC/Firefox comments?
Increase
As a resident of Somerset having received my council tax bill this week the only increase is in the town council precept. None for the county or police
Inspiron
is not Enterprise, Latitude is.
and
as far as I'm concerned FF is shit, why does it take 16 hours to load (with no add-ons - I don't do Lexus lights I'm afraid)
IE9 seems relatively ok though El Reg is a bit odd sometimes.
Agreed
It's almost impossible to buy a 'non' smartphone now - surely they should now just be called phones?
I thought..
.. that in FF each new release was a bug fix release - in any other world it would be called a patch.
Waiting for the flames
I'm quite happy with IE9 - though El Reg pages are a bit odd at times
I though
It was short for Company
City Slicker
No - Metro doesn't come to anything other than cities - and you can stick them where the sun doesn't shine.
Please...
... can we include Lewis in the cargo as well?
SAQ
Not sure what Tier Lush are but may not be able to self-assess.
If being born
on 27/3/02 makes him 10 he definitely is time travelling....
It's not made by Apple
Of course they will be user-replaceable
More?
I haven't paid more for a Kindle book than it's paper equivalent. Ok, if it's only available in hardback it will probably be more than it would be in paperback a year later however that price will drop when the paperback comes out.
@ragarath
I think you are the one joking. In outlets that don't have a proper network connection (pubs for example) I find it ridiculous when someone tries to pays for a cup of coffee (£1.50) with a debit card and it takes ages to auth.
Not New
Northern
Eh?
And you're Enterprise? As it happens the company I work for is and we don't extend warranties at all.
Not quite true
8.5.9 states change it every 90 days (at least) - we do 32
8.5.10 states 7 characters, not 8
8.5.11 states Numeric and Alphabetic (their words) and there's no mention of Upper/Lower case or special characters
But
The iTunes release has been added.
This is why it's hype
You may need a cached version but it shows why it's hype as at time of posting http://www.apple.com/uk/
Affordable
Personally I think it's a POS but I understand people who don't. However even the Register shows you can pay as much as you want to differ from the oiks with 'standard' ones: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/15/diamond_ipad/
Case
By a case with a light for the Kindle - easy.
White box
Give me one - it's a phone, why do I need 3G?
The web is just more fun
???? WTF.
Isn't...
.... that reserved for BMW drivers?
I agree
All the news stories on the web mentioned the Kindle - not sure who issued the PR for this but left arm/right arm?
Eh?
I was watching Sky News in Oman recently and have never seen such agenda driven interviewing on any channel on the day of the spending cuts. The reporters weren't actually listening to anything said to them. Total garbage.
