This is the Game Gear?
I know the economy is getting bad and all, but digging up stories from 1992?...
I'm waiting for an upgrade as well
Was with Homechoice, then they were bought by Tiscali, now looks like they're getting bought as well.
I want my upgrade so I can get Tiscali+ dammit!
You could drop £250 for an Asus Eee PC with everything pre-installed.
Am I wrong for craving one when I have a Sony Vaio TZ sitting at home?
I have a Sony TZ running Vista Business as well, but <touch wood> performance is ok. I've got Office 2007 and a myriad of Canon/Adobe programs (using it for photo storing/editing on the move). There's some other stuff on there as well.
What I did do though was uninstall as much of the pre-installed Sony bloatware that comes with it. Once I'd done this performance was a lot better.
It's nice to know that I could downgrade to XP free of charge, but I think that would be a last resort. Certainly reinstalling Vista would come first.
You know what's easier than unscrewing a laptop and freezing the RAM?
Waiting till the user goes to the toilet and leaves their laptop powered on and not even locked.
At least it got there, which is more than could be said for Royal Mail.
re: the engines
They should have tried turning them off and on again.
Let's find the UK's most expensive pint from a pub
I'll open with £4 for a pint of Staropramen at the Duke's Head in Putney.
I was literally gasting flabber.
Can anyone trump this? Criteria is a pint of normal bitter or lager (none of that fancy cherry flavoured stuff) and purchased from a pub, not a nightclub.
the 'private' cabin is nothing of the sort. The walls only come up to shoulder height so anyone walking past can see what you're up to.
Also just got one
Very impressed with the look, feel and battery life. Didn't think there was much point going back to XP so I just removed most of the installed apps. Why they don't allow you to start off with just a clean install of Vista I don't know. Once most of these are stripped out performance is more impressive, with Vista welcoming you to sign in before it's time to take the teabag out.
Performance generally is not very impressive, but it was never going to be. I bought this specifically to take on travels with a digital camera - and with a 100gb HDD and built in SD reader it's perfect for that.
The fingerprint reader is also pretty neat, allowing you to log on/lock Windows with a swipe, and also to save website username/password combinations to replay later with another swipe. And I can't believe the review didn't mention the Webcam?! Possibly because it's so unobtrusive they may not have noticed it was there.
