Hacked TalkTalk CEO: Dead as a Dido? Nope, she refuses to quit

Stuart Elliott

"shared the affected bank details with the major UK banks so they can take their usual actions to protect customers' accounts in the highly unlikely event that a criminal attempts to defraud them"

Well, the people who rang Dido up *said* they were calling from the bank, with a thick indian accent.

Paradoxes

I was slightly miffed about the "dude" bit, but I coped, what bugs me in a time travel program is paradoxes, there are many in that episode, but I'll just give you two from the last 30 seconds.

1. Getting to Skaro to potentially killed Davros again: erm, his T.A.R.D.I.S. was just blown up.

2: Killing Davros with a Dalek weapon: hello.. WHAT weapon when Davros is dead?

Device Manager

No it's not, it's just as easy to find as it is in Windows 8 - Win-X

or

Right-Click File Explorer on Start Menu, click Manage (as per My Computer in previous versions)

or (the easiest yet)

Click Start button, type 'DEVICE' press ENTER

Undead nights: Zombie FPS Dying Light shines bright

Stuart Elliott
Thumb Up

Good zombie game for a change

Been playing it on PC for last few days, still only about 20% through the campaign, and for a change, I'm a bit nervous while playing it, especially in night-mode (playing at night too), trying to avoid the patrol minions, it's a "little" bit Far-Cry'ish with all "tower climbing", but it's not that as big a component as in Far Cry or Assassins Creed thankfully.

Well worth playing if you turn off motion blur, which is a bit overkill for my liking, and needs tweaking imo.

El Reg Redesign - leave your comment here.

Stuart Elliott

Re: @Stuart Elliott

Well, having it so it doesn't look quite so barren, as per how it is now at 4K: http://i.imgur.com/lokr8fX.png

Even if it uses just 20% more white space, at whatever given resolution is used, would be a good start.

Re: El Reg Redesign - leave your comment here.

And still no concept that there are people reading your site with 4K monitors - the white gaps down each side are now bigger than the bloody content I'm trying to read FFS.

"In addition, "Redesign v2" is coming in 2015 and is likely to involve an agency that can guide us through a more rigorous ground-up redesign"

You might want to link the commentards to beta.theregister.co.uk when you're doing that, to save all this gnashing of teeth - let your users be your QC department.

Why Apple had to craft a pocket-busting 5.5in Plus-sized iPhone 6 (thank LG, Samsung etc)

Close, but no cigar:

"Take wallet out of pocket and touch it on reader."

My wallet contains 3 credit cards, and a debit card, all of which have PaybyBonk - which one does it choose?

"The only difference is it means Apple know exactly what you have been buying "

TomTom GO 6000 satnav chews on smarties and tablets

Stuart Elliott

Luddite

What is wrong with the abacus ?

What is wrong with walking ?

What is wrong with bows and arrows ?

What is wrong with 640K ?

etc. etc.

I've had various TomTom devices, currently on the not so wonderful GO Live 1000, but I wouldn't be without it, like my automatic transmission in the car, it takes the effort out of a mundane task, something not difficult, but something we don't need to think about, and can just get on with it.
