Brit spooks: Yanks are frightful cowboys

Did I miss a meeting?

Was I out the office when a decision was made that the actions and methods of terrorists became the benchmark of a Western Democracy's behaviour? Several of the comments here seem to suggest this.

I seriously doubt the Bin Laden was elected and holds regular debates as to the policies of his organisation, so does that mean we can bin democracy as well?

I'm rather frightened of people in civilised countries who use the "Well they're deranged sociopaths, so why can't we act like that?" argument. Feels like the start of a slippery slope that ends in not being able to tell if your Government or your sworn enemy is the most dangerous.

Anyone surprised by the ignorance?

I'm delighted to find that the latest batch of Terrorists in the UK are so utterly incompetant that they only injure themselves (got to feel glad a Suicide Bomber can't even get the first bit right). But for those amazed by the ignorance have to remember the dimwitted ignorance that has bred their motivation. If these people were indeed intelligent types who consider what they do before they do it, rather than just go off and act on something that seemed good, then they wouldn't have signed up for a demented jihad against the UK in the first place.

A new version of the 419 Scam?

Hello trusted benefactor,

I'm righting to you as a trusted friend with a great interest in breasts. I am aware of some very large breasts in a plastic surgeons office, I can get them and share them with you if you can help out with some sundry expenses.

Yours in an A cup,

Ouch

I remember being advised to carry a letter from my Doctor explaining the likely metal detector response to the steel plate in my arm when travelling overseas. The letter cost me £20 and I've never set off a single airport metal detector. I was rather irrated until I read this story.
