I might me interested in doing video on my mobile but at 1.50 a megabyte I can't afford it, so nor surprisingly I wait until I'm in Wifi range and download it for free.
If Nokia want data services to be useful and widespread they need to get the carriers to lower their data charges, it's prohibitive to emerging digital markets.
You wouldn't iron your clothes.
If you want to get serious as a govt. introduce communal cooking facilities in urban areas. Home cooking is seriously wasteful.
Stop TV transmission at midnight-6am.
Make public transport near free, including trains & the underground.
Quadruple the price of petrol.
Force shops to turn off lights when closed (my local TkMaxx is 3 floors of Xmas tree at night)
Turn off every other street light.
Anything else, like fiddling around with PSUs, is just pissing about.
Linux - crud
Apache - bloated
MySQL - toy
PHP - dumb

I got out of IIS because of the MSDN treadmill and the tendency to change the API when you install an SP to get rid of other OS vulnerabilities - I got burned by automatic database connection pooling disappearing and my clients phoning me up when they ran out of connections when they got enough clients such that they weren't released quick enough from timing out after 30mins, took me ages to work out what was happening!
Never go back, I said to myself then, thank goodness.
If you *must* use Linux & PHP do yourself a favour and go for Linux - Lighthttpd - Postgresql - PHP
