Seems bloody obvious to me as toroidal transformers are more efficient than their non-toroidal counterparts therefore you'd expect toroidal recording heads to be, also. They're almost the same thing.
Except, presumably, in the united states of americaland. Fail.
Maybe someone should sue the USPTO for employing people underqualified to accept these technical patents. That would be a good one.
So, if he advertised his gig in The Times it'd be the paper's fault? Or was he walking down the High St tweeting 'I is on da High Street'. What nob-cockery. Verging on Darwinian to be fair.
Still, least he now down wid the homies in da hood. He jus' needin' ta be shot now, bro, to be fully made up. Styli. Innit.
Word.
It will be true for a small number of people, but using the 6-degrees rule...
1. How many times have you personally suffered directly from terrorism?
2. How many people do you know who have?
3. How many people do you know who know people who have?
4 etc.
5.etc
6.etc
Suffering from terrorism doesn't mean 'being made a bit late', either.
#4 or 5 for me, effectively as I know someone who was working in NYC when the first WTC got hit and looked out of his window and typed on IRC 'Fuck. A plane just hit the WTC' so I guess he knows someone who knows someone. Pure chance I was in the same IRC channel at the time, too.
Suffering directly from terrorism is the exception not the rule. Same can't be said for suffering from beaurocracy though :o(
In the UK we're taught about how our predecessors murdered and slaughtered and used their power for their own ends, e.g. Henry VIII and Cromwell for a start... And don't forget the East India Tea Company.
Our history books don't say we brought freedom to x, y, & z and it was bloody but ultimately glorious, etc, etc and I don't remember them being written like that back when I was at school, either.
Not the US's strong suit.
They inherited the entire volume of history of Europe and ignored that. What makes you think they're gonna take more notice of their own pamphlet-sized history book ?
As long as control & influence can be extended now who gives a toss for tomorrow.
That's the actual purpose of C+P, to actually give the banks that exact get-out so they don't have to pay up under the terms of their contract with the customer. They know the customer almost never has the resources & tenacity to pursue the issue to a satisfactory conclusion thereby helping ensure the flow of money is more from customer to bank than the reverse.
I thought everyone knew that??
So Honest Steve has invented that now, eh.
Photographers with exposure bracketing cameras have been doing that for a good while now. In fact Il Honesto might want to look at some software made by his friends at Adobe which is called Photoshop.
No doubt the fanbois and fangurlz will be proud to own this brand new previously unheard of invention in photomagography and lord it over all their pals - at least the ones with shite cameras, anyway.
Oh, did Stevo mention what display devices would be capable of rendering the whole dynamic range of an HDR merged image? Perhaps that got accidentally overlooked.
For a truly special mirth-moment :oD
Can we get El Reg to add 'VPT' to it's descriptive arsenal ? Let it be added to the fabulous vocabulary that regularly gives us Bulgarian Airbags as a memetic reference?
Cos Vacuous Pointless Twaddle really does hit the spot on so many levels.
37 out of 10 for that combination of words
up the 40p/mile mileage allowance to reflect the 100% price hike in fuel since it was set at that level.
We spend 000's more on fuel per year than maintenance, should be more like 65-70p per mile by now!
If anyone knows how 40p was calculated I'd love to know the breakdown (pun not intended!).
I have two chipped XBOX1's running XBMC specifically as media players. Works a treat, better than many commercial mediaplayer apps including the XBOX360 and PS3 players in most cases.
Can't be arsed to even consider pirated console games. Ebay ensures a steady supply of cheap used games in great condition, some even with promo codes unused, too.
Well they'd never call it a total failure would they.
How many of those 'reports' were people puching the button to see what happened, they happen to mention that?
What did they say the conviction rate was?
'Push this button for instant protection from something that can't actually harm you unless you're pig-thick enough to get on a bus and go visit them'.
I much preferred 'Do not press this button' followed by 'Do not push this button again' - Hitch Hiker's Guide style.
They should give themselves an award and send out press releases saying how they won their own platinum standard award for being so platinum-standard-worthy.
