Windows XP is finally DEAD, right? Er, not quite. Here's what to do if you're stuck with it

Office 2003 - nah - office 97!

I have a bit of kit that has a plug in, the kit works under win8 no issue, the plug in - well that only links to PowerPoint 97. won't work on any other level. Seems it was a third party plug in and the third party no longer exist, so ye olde plug in is still compiled into the newer OS drivers.

Keeping to XP until...

Both my PCs have XP Pro running, switched off MS updates ages ago when an untested (must have been) update deleted MSDOS.SYS so no boot.

Looking to update PCs but not want Win (H)8. Gave up on Lego years ago.

May be a good thing that MS are to 'reintroduce' Win 7 soon, hopefully on disk or download for those who want to 'update' from XP to Win 7.

Else XP stays until a descent and stable OS is on the market (yeah ok , I know about Linux etc).

500 MEELLION PCs still run Windows XP. How did we get here?

Re: why am I bothering ? @Herbert Meyer

One of my PCs has unpatched XP at SP2 and works well with 2x500G SATA drives.

Keeping with XP as (has been mentioned) the 'updates' from MS are such crap. My laptop came with Windows 7 and looking for a new laptop. they all come with Windows H8. and no option to upgrade to win 7.

Apple tackles iPhone lock-up cockup with iOS 7.0.2

IOS 7.0.2 - Have I got old emails for you?

IOS 7.0.2 fixes one bug and opens another. Emails which use to be long gone and deleted moths ago all come back and are impossible to actually remove fully. as deleting them to trash, delete trashed items, re-scan for new emails and get all the old and deleted ones back again.

Great eh. Android anyone?

Apple iOS 7 makes some users literally SICK. As in puking, not upset

IOS7.0.2 email issues

IOS 7 3D animations are nothing in comparison to the latest out of the IOS stable - IOS 7.0.2 or as its quickly become knows as - Have I got old Emails for you.

Since this 'upgrade' the apple forum has been loaded with complaints that once IOS 7.0.2 is loaded, all those long forgotten and once deleted emails all come back to haunt the poor apple device and user. Even removing them and in the IOS 7 world this is a manual one by one job. After an email rescan by IOS, they all come back again.

Does Apple want to go the blackberry way (Beatles eat your heart out) and all those once loyal Apple fans move to Android?

iPhone 5S: 64-bit A7, 128GB storage, flashy ƒ/2.0 camera, and...

Will the 5S still have a 4 inch screen?

Along with all the hardware updates and things added to the 5S. will the screen still stay the same as the 5? With newer mobiles hitting the market with at least 5 inch screens. the iphone5 was not welcomed with its stretched screen. What Apple must realise is that with so many mobile users wanting a larger fondleslab. marketing the 'newer' iPhone 5S with a now outdated 4 inch screen just won't cut it with its loyal user base any more.

Could this see the death nail for the iPhone, has it run its course?

Come back Steve J. Apple needs you.
