Why can't she
just fuck off? I wonder if Gordon has realised that no matter what he does, Labour are out of government come next election, so he's letting his mindless idiots fill their boots before they are booted out...

People buy Apple products because they are worth buying. OK they are priced on the steep side, but let me show you Example A: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/12/17/koy_music_phones/ whats No.1?
Example B: http://fwd.five.tv/gadget-show/bestbuys/phones/mobile-phones
I could go on, but you are not smart enough to understand. I am not a Mac fanboi (i don't use anything apple simply because i don't feel the need to) but i recognise great tech when i see it, an Apple's current range is generally made up of great tech.
...for all of this loss of sense of humour. Yes its a bit dark and yes its a bit close to home for some people in our population of 65 million, but really. Sod off. I laughed, my mates laughed and i'm sure plenty of others beyond that laughed (probably including staffers in el Reg). Can that MP not focus on something important like the people he represents having less money in their pockets per chance? Any anyways, he's in politics. He's bound to be up to some nasty Xratedness himself...
After MS sort out the sheer bloat of the OS, their next priority has to be without doubt matching and maybe surpassing Apple's interface. I'm not an apple fan, but their machines are a dream to use. MS should target stuffing them into the ground. THATS how they are going to get their reputation back.
We may have won the war, but frankly those who fought would be sick to see the state of the nation now. Wonder how long its gonna be before a Yank billionaire owns the crown jewels and has a penthouse suite in the Tower of London?
The French (who are reluctant to back Britain in nearly every other way) are of course more than pleased to have every Briton paying their eleccy bills to them.
Premiership football seems to define the way we are going as a nation - Selling everything to foreigners, bringing in foreigners to do our jobs and when it comes to the crunch - we have no skills or talent (or anything infact) of our own (how many home nations in the last European championships?)
Its disgusting. Sold down the river. National identity? Simply a clause in another contract.
"I guess the author thought they were being funny with the SS comment. Exactly the reason i don't live in this small minded country anymore! Grow up!"
You don't live in *this* small minded country? Are you here on holidays then? If so, why? Why come back if you can't take some gentle nationalist banter? Are you in fact so devoid of a sense of humour that you upped sticks and moved your entire life? Do you have any friends? Are you even a nice person?
Because frankly I think your ignorance shows you to be the idiot you are.
P.s. I'd be more concerned about the trajectory angle of a ricochet from a substantial set of firm guns... that would have everybody ducking!
Jobs for the boys = same thing structured differently.
Maybe we have our own area 51 which the MOD are covering costs for. That would be the reason why amanfrommars is the first to pounce on this - his random dribblings on to the screen are to confuse everyone and ultimately stop the truth getting out - the MOD is paying for his house.
I'm not sure about sky, but with VirginMedia you don't actually own the STB therefore it it not your property to tamper with. Fundameentally, when you sign up, you have effectively agreed to accept responsibility for a STB that you borrow (or rent or whatever) from them to make use of their service.
This would be different to say hacking an Xbox - you buy it, you should be allowed to do whatever you like with it.
These guys got caught. Thats the risk you take.
P.S. If you get the time machine idea working, give me a shout. 2 days ago I saw a real fit chick sunbathing and wouldn't mind another look.
Its the final SP for MS's old operating system. Ok the new one is a bit shit and has ME written all over it, but still, MS have a business plan to stick to and that's what they are gonna do. If ya wanna think your being a bit out there and cool, buy a Mac, I play with Linux myself, though to be honest it is not even close to matching the experience provided by MS to the standard web surfin-email checkin-facebook using-letter writing user. I know it can do all of the above, but still not in a way thats idiot proof. So i'd suggest you update to SP3 and sit tight until Windows 7 (which sounds like its gonna be here soon enough).
I suppose we could wait for the Haiku project (http://www.haiku-os.org) to bare fruit.
These people have signed up to give your kids an education. Not take shit from the wee brats. If this sort of crap starts to affect their lives, then the kids involved should be punished severely. I mean its not like the old days when whoopie cushions were put on "sir's" chair. Happy slapping and knives are in schools these days.
A good few teachers live in the same community as these wee shits. Teachers lost the right to maintain order in the classroom due to the fear of [the school] being sued by ambulance chasing parents, now the kids have open season. I accept that some teachers are c**ts. But so are some IT employees and cops and doctors etc etc etc. And anyway. Lets see how many of us can get thirty 15 years olds to learn Shakespeare at one time....
HD DVD's demise won't affect MS too badly as not many people bought the add on anyway. It was a separate module and therefore easily replaced. As for the rest of the big talk - its MS coming from behind again, this time facing factors such as:
1) Playstation3 is going to outsell the Xbox360
2) Zune is a failure and needs a boost fast
3) Sony are streaking ahead in terms of community interaction while Microsofts general indifference has come up and bit them.
After all the big talk about PS3 being the lesser of the 2 consoles before its launch, it looks like Microsoft are going to be the firm that will have to fight tooth and nail for market share. Even Nintendo got it more right.
The cost advantage of production etc wasn't enough, and MS didn't have them IN the XBOX360 from the start (could have been a head start advantage on the ps3.) The consoles were always going to be the leading edge of this battle and Toshiba/MS simply didn't get it right. Watch out for future generations of the XBOX360 with BD players on board, cos MS will have to do everything possible to limit the size of the gap between them and PS3 when their sales fall behind. That means having the ability to play hi def movies out of the box.
Let MS buy yahoo and take Google on. Ok it leaves only 2 big players in the game, but it will open more doors for a host young startups. With social engineering sites becoming yesterday's news, gaps will start to appear in the online world which need to be filled and who knows, maybe someone else will appear out of nowhere and side swipe the whole industry a la YouTube, Google, Facebook etc etc etc.
And to be 46bn lighter, MS will have to make this gamble work cos that doesn't leave much money for other high profile acquisitions.
As far as i'm concerned, let MS have Yahoo.
Its game on for the next generation.
they lasted this long to be honest. I have never had a good experience of Moto fones and its no real surprise they are on the back foot. I don't think their withdrawal from the market can be too far away with Nokia strengthening their position and Samsung and Sony Ericsson producing much better MOR fones. Motorola really don't cut it like they used to and to be honest, they should seriously think about selling off to maybe dell, who can use the existing tech to push their new Google's Android based handsets.
Did i just suggest a new idea?
no. Its all about PC vs XBox vs PS3 in the battle to become the home hub of all digital media and on line interactive experiences etc etc [just think of all the "convergence" bullshit you hear these days].
Consoles are taking on some PC functions in a round about way (you can go online with a PS3, plug in a usb keyboard and write a letter or do a spreadsheet on google docs) but really the battle is for control of how you see your photos, watch telly/films, listen to music etc.
Much as consoles push this direction, PCs will always have rapid advancement in development of games and their hardware. Pc's however have one camp all to themselves - business use. If you ran a business, would you fork out for say 5 xboxen or 5 low end desktop Pcs?
Woolies have made the right decision. Based on actual sales figures, Woolies have proved what many have believed - HD DVD is dead in the water. Hopefully this will get the ball rolling and begin the final deathly thrashings of the HD-DVD format.
For the record, I am not a Sony fanboy, i just think that a format should really win out sooner rather than later so that it can be developed further and continue along the march of technological advancement. Blue-ray seems to be the healthier of the formats for many reasons.
...and it does result in cheap blue-ray, then that surely is the final nail in the HD-DVD coffin.
If its not, then i propose that the entire blue-ray camp dons balaclavas, hobnail boots and grabs the nearest blunt instrument and makes its way to toshiba's hd-dvd labs and trashes the place.
