As a family we have Nook glowlights - never downloaded books from their store just buy epub from where ever is cheapest and sideload them.

There does a last seem to be a spread of prices for many ebooks.

Even without Calibre and DRM removal Adobe Digital Editions allows you to share ebooks betwen a limited number of devices.

I tried Kindles and Kobos and find the Nook easier to use.

Smaller engine version needed

Put in a small diesel so combined power is reasonable but not exciting say 120bhp and with the space and weight saved move the batteries to the front to give back the boot space.

That should give you nice looking useful car

£11bn or ~£500 per household would buy a lot of energy saving insulation and porbably result in far more energy saving than smart meters.

However the possibility of variable pricing would encourage use of the delay feature on many dish washers and washing machines; a significant reduction of the evening peak in energy consumption/generation could be achieved if even 10% of users delayed these machines till the early hours = more efficient electricity genereation.
