Google knows what it's doing, building a cloud based future one Pixel at a time.

http://successfulworkplace.com/2013/01/17/man-outsources-own-job-to-china-fraud-or-brilliance/

So a business can outsource their processes but an employee is not allowed to outsource their business ?

I think this guy was a genius (although there have been reports it was a fake now)

iWatch or iPhone ?

Do you remember the concepts mooted when the original iPhone rumor first surfaced ? And do you remember seeing the iPhone for the first time and laughing at the pictures splashed all over the magazines a week before launch of a white phone with a jog-wheel ? It’s happening again, only this time with the iWatch.

Actually this was a stroke of genius, if you read the full details Weiner is taking LinkedIn into full on content marketing.

Very clever move.

Don't do it for the money

http://successfulworkplace.com/2012/12/20/outsourcing-to-save-money-is-the-wrong-reason/

All well and good, but after being involved in duff outsourcing projects where the main reason is money, that's why it fails as a strategy.

http://successfulworkplace.com/2013/02/07/what-if-facebook-was-the-internet/

So many depend on Facebook authentication for login, commenting, posting, marketing.....where does it end ?

theopriestley

Would be interesting to see how companies like myTab.co will survive this once FB expands into everything else.....

Missing the point

Missing the point, it has far more application outside of the consumer market than inside !

Medical, emergency services, customer service, engineering, advertising.....

http://successfulworkplace.com/2013/01/30/google-glass-will-change-the-face-of-the-enterprise/

Plus BMW were looking at AR for their technicians way back in 2007 (link in the article to a YouTube vid)

If Google manage this right with quality control over the application of it then it could fly. Vuzix are another company launching this to market.

Re: Good on her

She was managing social media at HMV so technically didn't "hijack" the account. I think she'll do ok despite all the ruckus, it'll die down soon enough. It's more a statement of HMV's complete lack of knowledge in this area given she tweeted them this morning telling them they still needed to change passwords on the account. They really are a clueless company, their apathy to even acknowledge online as a business model until it was too late is damning as well.

I feel sorry for employees who are waiting for the axe to fall again.

Good on her

Yup, was in the thick of it and got a screen grab before they pulled the plug.

Nexus of Farces.

Gartner has lost the plot entirely now. I love calling them out but this is priceless material for me.

FAIL

It's all your fault

Read this online this morning, The High Street is dead and it's all your fault. Made me laugh.

I don't think it was just his blog that caused this....

http://bpmredux.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/how-to-bake-a-magic-quadrant-cake-free-ibpms-report-included-in-recipe/

There's been many more about other Tragic Quadrant reports. This year Gartner has faced a major backlash from some big vendors.

theopriestley

Not the first time is it !!!

They get every industry wrong, in some cases so off the mark it's incredible that they are still cited as a credible source of analysis.

Want to know how to make your own Magic Quadrant ? http://bit.ly/Vn8mPM

Re: Tim Cook answered this guy's plea !

Err...because it was sent to Tim directly and he forwarded it to the Apple Exec Relations team in Ireland !
