Woz: Microsoft's innovation lead 'worries me greatly'

Re: The Market agrees

Halve current share price and still overvalued. Worlds largest company measured by market cap - ridiculous.

Happy

Few times over my long contracting career I have been offered a cut. Each time I have politely declined, and had a nice long break. This has improved my work life balance, and I have enjoyed a great deal. Also, each time after I have returned from the break, I have been offered more money, either by same organisation, or somewhere else! Fact remains that we are underpaid, and by large don't have to take shit from anyone, or be treated like number. Try it. I warmly recommend it.

Apple, Samsung begin battle for billions in US patent smackdown

Hooray

Maybe as a polite gesture and as thank you to Very Protective legal system, apple could start stamping their kit with designed in the USA, instead of California.

Apple seeks whopping $2.525bn Samsung patent payout

Karirunc

OK, fanbois, enlighten me. Where does this valuation put Nokia patents at? Say for starters touch screen perse, wi-fi?

As a technologist I am sickened, and my next phone is Samsung for this reason (I have iPhone now). At least in Australia courts did not bendover to all this silliness.... Feel sorry for consumers in us.

Finnish PM rules out Nokia rescue package

Re: Flops mission is complete.

Flops chances of success in turning around Nokia are similar to Tony Blair's mission as Middle east peace envoy < 0. They would probably get seriously beaten (if not killed) if they dared to show their faces to average Joe on the street.. Both had a chance to do something but so dissappointinly chose the wrong path..

What do Google, MS, Apple, Facebook, + the rest of 95% biggest tech companies all have in common? They all would LOVE to see any NON-American company fail bigtime. Think about deal btw Apple and Nokia re patents uuse. Nokia, with their superior products and innovation (read: not having marketing as their prime focus), was able to wash the floor with Motorola and other players for a long time. They literally invented the whole mobile market as we know it. Just think what they would like to do to someone like Samsung, who have easier access to cheap labour and less respect for (c) compared to someone like Nokia...

if I was the New Zealand filmmaker Fergus Milner, I would be little worried about kiwi justice system before producing a film like that. They'll simply lock him up and throw the key away, before it even gets released!

what microsoft fans??

I think that non apple fanbois are often people who use tech as tool, and not as accessory or some sort of fashion statement. And maybe they cannot afford apple since their job can be done better with cheaper non apple product. Also they don't see the need to endlessly drool over how superior their kit is compare with any other brand. That sh1t is soo boring and dull to listen to. The key capability of non apple folks over apple fanbois is that they can shut the *uck up.

Angry Birds want to be Donald Duck

Karirunc

Yeah Cliff, they call Google that too... and good on you attacking an fluffy cartoon character! I just happen to feel little more optimistic about the game, their future prospect, and the undeniable phenomena they have created. Disney also started with initial character.. and it took little longer for them to build the company, without the distribution networks and channels available nowadays. Luck is something every company will need at some stage - how else should you differentiate between competition? I thinks you just hate the game and have some sour grapes for whatever reason. Even if they shut down tomorrow, they have done amazingly well.
