Windows 10 Anniversary Update is borking boxen everywhere

2fast748

I'm still running an insider preview build that is set to Release Preview updates and it's upgraded itself to 1607 with no problems.

Admittedly it isn't my everyday machine and is running BOINC and not much else but it does update and keep running.

Avoiding Liverpool was the aim: All aboard the world's ONLY moving aqueduct

The collapsing bearings story should be more famous as that is what rendered traffic on the nearby Thelwall Viaduct immobile for years at a time.

Bloody ship canal, I often wonder if it generated any more money than it has cost in lost productivity for traffic sat burning time and fuel going nowhere fast.

TalkTalk scam-scammers still scam-scamming

2fast748

My wife nearly gave one of these scammers access to her laptop a couple of months ago, it was only our daughter crying that stopped it happening. They then phoned back 3 times a day for 2 weeks trying the same trick. It prompted us to take up TTs offer of free CLI. The calls have now died off but I really must move away from TT as they are a truly awful company.

Why haven't the ICO come down like a ton of bricks on TT? Has anybody ever been prosecuted over this (either TT or the scammers?)

Guy puts 1990s MacOS 7 on an Apple Watch – without jailbreaking it

Did it immediately crash with an error type 11?

It was supporting system 7.5.x that put me of Macs for life!

SpaceX Dragon crew capsule in 'CHUTE ABORT drama – don't panic, no one died

Re: Not on Shuttle-

The shuttle did get an escape system but only after the Challenger disaster. Most astronauts privately said it was completely useless as trying to eject from a vehicle going several thousand miles an hour is a lost cause anyway. Abort to orbit was an option for the shuttle which kind of tells you all you need to know about an object being hurtled vertically by an engine that can't be turned off (solid fuel boosters at least).

Unhappy

I use Firefox and it gets slower to load with every iteration. I could have told them that, they didn't need to write it in to the code.

When GiffGaff falls over, is it even news any more?

2fast748

I noticed the problem but am pretty ambivalent towards gg and it's comedy "will it or won't it send" type operation.

I seem to suffer some problem every 6 weeks or so if you are looking for patterns.
