Europe's top court mulls vandal's right to privacy after bloke catches thug on home CCTV

Re: The end of the Surveillance State?

"Of if one were to break one of the windows in a building, say in the Vauxhall area (one might, for instance, take agin green window glass) "

If you are talking about a certain building , where a certain three letter security agency is housed, you could break their window, but if by getting away it , you mean ending up in a unmarked grave somewhere ,then go ahead. Literally YOUR funeral!

Car-crash IT: HUGE write-off for Universal Credit - PAC

El_Fev

Hold on a second

How is it £600 Million?, that's what computer weekly insiders said it would cost if they continued on the same path would be wasted. the max they said would be spent was £140 Million , with 40 Millions being lost. I think Margaret Hodge is playing politics again.

I think there's a lot of people who don't like IDS talking a lot of crap. And quite frankly compared to the amount that was pissed away on the failed NHS system, this is actually a success,,, which is sad beyond words :(

Space Commanders rebel as Elite:Dangerous kills offline mode

El_Fev

This is rubbish..

If you want to sync with offline players, you just offer a patch. This sounds more like copy protection than anything else, and eventually they will have to go the way of the new sim city , when they will be forced to admit , that offline mode was always there they just wanted to ensure that people bought the game.

Facepalm

OK so let me get this straight..

This worked by requiring people to jail break their phones and then connect to some dodgy Chinese app store website?

Because I was reading this expecting it to be about software downloaded from the main apple webstore.

So the whole gist of this article is if you jail brake your phone and then download apps from a foreign website , you could have malware installed on your system.

Apple's new iPADS have begun the WAR that will OVERTURN the NETWORK WORLD

El_Fev

The simple way to avoid this..

If Google or apple try to restrict which networks their mobiles can connect to , they are immediately banned from selling them in that country. Why? They would immediately fall afoul of competition law.

Has Europe cut the UK adrift on data protection?

El_Fev

Re: Little Englander syndrome

@Anonymous Coward - I could spend time going through all your bollocks but that day is not long enough, but just to put you straight on a couple of things..

1) "People say the EU is expensive and we get nothing in return, but certainly out side of London there are a lot of major projects that couldn't have happened without EU financing "

As we put in more money than we take out, we are essential using our own money , minus the EU's administration to pay for our own work!

2) We actual do make a hell of a lot in this country, the fact that you think we don't is becuase you spend to much of your time, with your head stuck in the guardian sipping your choco loco , low fat latte and lapping up all this guff about how we are barely weak , diminished and need protecting oh woe us., while waiting for your cheap eastern European nanny to bring back tarquin from nursery!

The UK has one of the biggest Markets in the world in terms of spending power and if you think for one instance , that everyone will not want to start selling here becuase were not in the EU then you are a complete and utter moron, an if they are so stupid enough to do so, then you can be damn sure someone in this country will set up a company toot sweet to replace them!

Just remember apart from the EU the others 180 countries are on their own and prefer it that way!

Apple's Irish tax lair to be probed by European Commission

El_Fev

Really simple way of dealing with this....

Company A makes £600 million in Country A, but says it has to pay £599 million in royalties to Company A(1) in Luxemburg.

You change the law so that Royalties paid to a company outside of the country , cost 40% of what's paid.

What this does is make paying corporation tax the cheaper option, if they don't like it they can shut up shop, I'm sure there will be local and international companies willing to service that market!
